Looking at MRI's is KEWL!

Yeah, I’m here but not in the mood to blog much. I have been a bit depressed and I really don’t want to be doing the whole “pity party” thing here. Pity is one of my biggest pet peeves.
So, I will make a very long story short.
On Wednesday I went to the doctor and found out that I have to have another brain surgery and soon. The doctor said the problem is a form of hydrocephalus in my forth ventricle. My other ventricles are large but the forth ventricle is compressing my cerebellum.

Here is a pic of my MRI from 2004

and here is last December's MRI ......>

I circled the hydrocephalis in both pics. To the right of the circles is my cerebellium.

It is suppose to look like this....... I circled the cerebellium in yellow...> It is nice and round.
What happens when the cerabellium is compressed? or when hydrocephalis is in the 4th vent?? Well- the cerebellium controls every major motor skill. I am having problems walking, talking, breathing and swallowing, not to mention the PAIN. When the hydro is there it compresses the brain stem and I am sure you know what that means. Not good.

This will be #7 in brain surgeries and #22 in all. I have developed a huge amount of anxiety about surgeries. I am terrified. Scared to death.
I was suppose to call the surgeon on Wednesday and I still haven’t yet.
See, I have to call and pick a new surgeon because the one that was in my head 6 times picked up and moved to Colorado and nobody knows how to get a hold of him. ~grrrr~That is another thing that scares the hell out of me, someone new touching my brain. I will let you know when the surgery is.

Here is a good website that shows a VP shunt, which will be what is done. I already have one, it never worked and caused an infection from the bottom of my lungs to my bladder.
All I know is I have to be 100% by the end of September. John is best man at his friends wedding. The wedding is in North Carolina and I wanna go!!! No- I am GOING to go!!

I just read this post and even though I tried to make it educational......It still sounds like a pity party. Sorry 'bout that.....it can be interesting looking at MRIs though, don't ya think??
