Click here I have another blog- Come see my Yahoo 360 click here
I recieved this in an email this morning!! It is SOOO true!
When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their
Tedious diatribes about how hard things were when they were
Growing up; what with walking twenty-five miles to school every
Morning... Uphill both ways through year 'round blizzards .
Carrying their younger siblings on their backs... To their one-room
Schoolhouse, where they maintained a Straight-A average despite
Their full-time, after-school job at the local textile mill....where they
Worked for 35 cents an hour just to help keep their family from
Starving to death !!!
And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was
No way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on kids
About how hard I had it and how easy they've got it !!!
But... Now that I'm over the ripe old age of thirty, I can't help but
Look around and notice the youth of today. You've got it so easy!
Hate to say it but you kids today you don't know how good you've
Got it!
I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet. We wanted
To know something, we had to go to the damn library and look it up
Ourselves!
There was no email! We had to actually write somebody a
Letter....with a pen! Then you had to walk all the way across the
Street and put it in the mailbox and it would take like a week to get there!
There were no MP3's or Napsters! You wanted to steal music, you
Had to go to the damn record store and shoplift it yourself! Or
You had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the
DJ'd usually talk over the beginning and f@#* it all up!
You want to hear about hardship? You couldn't just download porn!
You had to bribe some homeless dude to buy you a copy of
"Hustler"at the 7- 11! Those were your options!
We didn't have fancy shit like Call Waiting! If you were on the
Phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal! And we
didn't have fancy Caller ID Boxes either! When the phone rang, you
Had no idea who it was! It could be your boss, your mom, a
Collections agent, your drug dealer, you didn't know!!! You just
Had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!
We didn't have any fancy Sony Play station videogames with
High-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games
Like "Space Invaders" and "Asteroids" and the graphics sucked ass!
Your guy was a little square! You had to use your imagination! And
There were no multiple levels or screens; it was just one screen
Forever! And you could never win, the game just kept getting
Harder and faster until you died! Just like LIFE!
When you went to the movie theatre there no such thing as stadium
Seating! All the seats were the same height! If a tall guy sat in
Front of you and you couldn't see you were just screwed!
Sure, we had cable television (Some people did! We had only the 3
Channels that came in from the antenna on top of the house. I
Thought we were really lucky when Fox came along and we had 4
Channels!), but back then that was only like 20 channels and
There was no onscreen menu and no remote control! You had to use
a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on!
You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get
Off your ass and walk over to the TV to change the channel and there
Was no Cartoon Network! You could only get cartoons on Saturday
Morning... D'ya hear what I'm Saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK,
You spoiled little bastards!
We didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heat something up.. We
Had to use the stove ... Imagine that! If we wanted popcorn... We
Had to use that stupid jiffy pop and shake it over the stove like
An idiot forever.
That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids today have got it
Too easy. You're spoiled; you guys wouldn't have lasted five
Minutes back in 1980!!!

Even though it is Monday today, this is actually a Saturday night post.
It's that damn procrastination thingy again.
So John and I went out to see the best cover band ever- Trixie Delight.
They were at the Bottle Neck Blues Bar and we rode with our really good
friend Jayde and picked up Ms. Kelly Wild.
Now if you have been reading this blog for some time then you know
this was pretty much and every weekend thing for me.
Lately I have been pretty sick and not able to go anywhere.
I really , really miss the group I used to go out with, miss them
so much it can be painful even. So when I seen them all Saturday,
and the one I thought hated me gave me a hug, I was in tears.
If you girls read this, just know that you all hold a special place in my heart.
I really needed those hugs, made me feel so much better. I did miss Kel and Tracy and W-Lo and the guys!! ~sob~
Oh yeah, another note, to Ms Wild especially. If I repeated myself I apologize.
Since the hydrocephalus has been bad it is totally affecting my memory,
even my kids complain. ~sigh~ It will be fixed soon and NO I have not call the surgeon yet, I will, I will, promise!
Ok, now I must write a post for the rest of the weekend and today.

Looking at MRI's is KEWL!
Yeah, I’m here but not in the mood to blog much. I have been a bit depressed and I really don’t want to be doing the whole “pity party” thing here. Pity is one of my biggest pet peeves.
So, I will make a very long story short.
On Wednesday I went to the doctor and found out that I have to have another brain surgery and soon. The doctor said the problem is a form of hydrocephalus in my forth ventricle. My other ventricles are large but the forth ventricle is compressing my cerebellum.
Here is a pic of my MRI from 2004
and here is last December's MRI ......>
I circled the hydrocephalis in both pics. To the right of the circles is my cerebellium.
It is suppose to look like this....... I circled the cerebellium in yellow...> It is nice and round.
What happens when the cerabellium is compressed? or when hydrocephalis is in the 4th vent?? Well- the cerebellium controls every major motor skill. I am having problems walking, talking, breathing and swallowing, not to mention the PAIN. When the hydro is there it compresses the brain stem and I am sure you know what that means. Not good.
This will be #7 in brain surgeries and #22 in all. I have developed a huge amount of anxiety about surgeries. I am terrified. Scared to death.
I was suppose to call the surgeon on Wednesday and I still haven’t yet.
See, I have to call and pick a new surgeon because the one that was in my head 6 times picked up and moved to Colorado and nobody knows how to get a hold of him. ~grrrr~That is another thing that scares the hell out of me, someone new touching my brain. I will let you know when the surgery is.
Here is a good website that shows a VP shunt, which will be what is done. I already have one, it never worked and caused an infection from the bottom of my lungs to my bladder.
All I know is I have to be 100% by the end of September. John is best man at his friends wedding. The wedding is in North Carolina and I wanna go!!! No- I am GOING to go!!
I just read this post and even though I tried to make it educational......It still sounds like a pity party. Sorry 'bout that.....it can be interesting looking at MRIs though, don't ya think??
